Here's what Sheldon Borenstein says about gesture:

> Gesture is not a drawing. Gesture is what you put INTO your drawing. You need the life force in your drawing.
> There's no one way to do a gesture. It's personal. It's what YOU want. Gesture doesn't necessarily have detail, but it does have an attitude. It lives.
> It's not scribble to scribble. It's scribble for a reason: to get the story down.
> You generally draw gestures super light. On top of this rough, you put on your shapes, form, anatomy, value, and colour. The tough part is keeping this gesture (story) as you go on to the details. Everything you do after the gesture needs to plus it.
