the deal about his spine/blood cloth will be "revealed" only for the reader during the fourth arc in the story (the arcs won't be long, but they will have very varied styles, so i count it as arcs), bc it's deeply connected with a character that will only appear during the fourth arc.

In Ezra's back is his sacred spine (all his siblings have their own with diferent characteristics), it's hidden in those reddish straps and hair. Every subling has a flaw that activates their sacred spine, Ezra's can grow a "metallic" tail and muzzle, but only when he loses control. Since Ezra almost died once, the spine went crazy and it's half awake most of the time creating the blood cloth.
