OP here, I'll start:
>Learning is the hardest and easiest thing you can do
It's easy to learn but the hard part is having the discipline to.
>Worrying about how long it will take to 'get good' is pointless
I was worrying about it a year ago when I was beginning. I was drawing everyday and suddenly a year had passed and it felt like yesterday was the day I began. I don't know what to call it but if you're in the moment time goes quickly, as if it went by in a flash.
When I started animating 6 years ago at that moment it felt like forever and many times I stopped, wondering if I'd ever get to my goal and now I'm here. All I have to do is do the same for art.
>People who say 'art isn't for you if you don't enjoy it from the get go' are full of shit
Most of the anxiety for those people come from the embarrassment of making mistakes. Also rom the fact that people want to be good NOW, so it's demotivating to them to dedicate so much time and (most likely in their minds) fail. The risk and reward are too high for someone who has no idea about the struggle for improvement.

Don't let them discourage you. Just learn the process of learning while absorbing good information and you'll be golden.
>Wacom drivers suck dick
>People on /ic/ are miserable asshats who are out to be as obnoxious as possible
I make neutral and unoffending posts and would be attacked for dumb things.
>/ic/ is mostly shit but the people who know their shit really do
The only reason I still come are for these hidden gems
>Don't focus on the fundamentals exclusively
You'll really fuck yourself when you strive to draw eyeballs perfectly and can't seem to place them on a head without your character looking like an alien.
A better example would be wanting to draw anime. If you draw realistic humans only and then get to the point where you feel comfortable enough to switch to drawing anime be prepared to learn everything again. Draw everything you're striving for now. You'll regret it otherwise.

>XDDD Everything is attempting to be deep although this is just a simple panel in a manga explaining that if you try too hard you'll burn yourself out
