good stuff, the shapes on your value studies are correct but they look boring, play around with core shadows being darker and letting reflected light hit the object. see img

practice drawing and shading spheres and other simple forms, start with big shapes and little by little add details, this should be done with an opaque brush, similar to other anon's skulls
