It's a mentality seen everywhere, from sports, to love life, to art. You'll spend months waiting for the "right moment" but it will never come. Like that dude in /asg/ who's been drawing sketch dolls for a year and never got better

Here's an advice for your heads :
Draw them at different angles, don't get stuck on the 3/4 profile view

Rotation table is this. You can find another or bigger in some guides or google. (But it's not super effective, it's better to use art you like as ref).
