Ignoring the drama and whining, I think the reason a lot of people don't get a lot of RTs on their artwork is that they're at the skill level where their art is decent enough for pity likes, but not good enough for someone to actually want to RT their art and show it to other people. I'm at this skill level too.

When I see shitty art that gets a lot of RTs
often it usually means that what the artist doesn't have in "technical" skill they have instead in social skills. They are really social/outgoing on their Twitter accounts and have a lot of friends that are very happy to RT whatever they upload. In the social media game it's more important that you know how to promote yourself more than anything.

Also it helps if the art is some social statement too, especially something LGBT related like "Pikachu is for trans rights" or "Pikachu thunderbolts ebil TERFS". Somewhat pic related.
