Don't bother making a work stylistically consistent; you can have giant, malformed anime eyes on a work that otherwise attempts semi-realism, and that's perfectly alright. True fans will ignore the fact that one of those glistening eyes is melting into the cheekbone region, or that the ear is moving over to set up a colony on the neck. As long as the eyes are glittering and the jawline is square, you could get away with anything else.
