I saved you for last because we're in our 40's, so I know the struggle of starting roughly ten or so years ago and feel like we're behind this, imaginary curve we were brought up to believe when we were kids. You're not behind on anything friend, we're riding this wave at a super chill pace, enjoying being in the moment. I'm sorry to hear about your brain problems and I sincerely hope you have those in check as you live day to day, keep your fucking head up even when the demons tell you to quit. Look those motherfuckers right in their eyes and smile the fear of Death into them.
And hey, our full time jobs pay the fucking bills, they keep the eggs and tortillas stocked in our fridges and gas in our tanks.
Draw whenever you have a chance to, give yourself time. It's not over for us by a long shot, we have the rest of our lives to enjoy drawing as our primary passion, our one and only love that we give ourselves, something that truly belongs to us. Some around us will call it a hobby and that's cool, but we both know it's much more than that.
It helps propel us forward, encouraging us to take on a brand new day with the hope that at the end of it, we can sit down for a few hours and get lost in our imaginations, bringing whatever we want to life by the stroke of a pencil, pen, or brush. Don't hold back on your work man, let your art make you smile like mine does for me. Because at the end, when all this shit is said and done, we can look back and say I drew, because it made me happy.
Godspeed. Though I may never meet you in real life, know that I would gladly shake your hand to let you know that you're not alone in the journey. There are still some of us out here who are drawing right alongside you, despite our problems, bringing our dreams to life. Never for the glory. Only for the love.
