Assuming that warping you're talking about is moire, yes that happens normally with screentones. The way to avoid it is to add some kind of blur affect after. In print a "blur" naturally occurs during the printing process, where the ink bleeds on the page very slightly. There's no direct equivalent to this in digital since digital ink doesn't bleed, but you can minimize the effect by applying a blur before you export. Also export settings affect moire, make sure you're not exporting the page too large.

Plenty of hi-res digital releases have moire out the ass. Pic related. It mostly just happens when they scan in a page with fukhueg resolution and don't scale it down by much, or when they just release the digital page at its full resolution.
