Well done it does get much better anon. Keep practicing your lineart is pretty solid and the face is cute.

Your next challenge will be to get past your insecurities about shading, I know it feels like you are ruining the pristine purity of a lineart but it will get better as you improve trust me! Focus on learning how the light behaves on the geometry of the body (pic my shitty attempt). Remember that whatever happens you are only painting the light and shadow, technically even the lineart itself players the role of sharp shadows and hard edges between two different values.

It might also help if you would switch your background fro ma pure white to a bit greyer, as you know the background has a powerful influence on how you perceive the image, a bit more grey will easy our eyes a bit and light greys no longer feel so dirty. Plus you can also start adding highlight spots using with colors and that can be fun.

I took the two shadow layers I did and copied them on the right with a white and a grey background to illustrate how different they are.

Watch Sycra's 3 part vid on the foundation of light and shadow,if you haven't before, that explains pretty simple and straightforward I think that will help you ease your concerns.
