The values seem really weak so I just added two gradients. A cool and dark radial gradient to sort of vignette the picture, and a lighter warmer ray-like gradient on top of the character on an overlay layer to warm up the focal point.

Then I tweaked curves just a little bit to push values. It doesn't fix the overall weak values on the character but separates the focal point a little bit from background. Don't be afraid going warmer with your lights, like skin tone warm peach, if the surroundings are cool turquoise. Experiment with overlay layers on your lights. Do gradient maps if you have photoshop.

I find the shading way too soft (use hard brushes and mix the edges, don't rely on soft brush to do the artists job) and push the values of the character. If you want blood don't paint with ketchup, try to do dark red blood (with value of like 8 or 9/10) with dark brown / black color burn layers to it so it looks like deep thick puddle rather than grey-red mist.

I feel like you might have done this as black and white and colored with it on an overlay layer as it feels so desaturated and has little color character to it. If you want to work with black and white thumbnails initially, look for gradient maps, they are better than overlay color layers.
