A good idea is a good idea anon, and the most successful, compelling ideas get the most money. Being female certainly plays into the novelty of the art, but talking from my experience, being female hasn't done me any favors. Then again I just draw casually so that could be why I have such a small follower count. Or maybe I just can't draw for shit.

As soon as I moved from regular art to pony art, my popularity boosted. So maybe it's less about being female, and more about what you draw while being a female.

Please don't use your brain as an excuse. It's not some hippie bullshit...Well, it's sort of like that, but combined with raw observation skills. Now there are mathematical proportions when illustrating a form, but you need to do more than just follow basic rules. You DO have to "feel the form" and work your pencil accordingly. Otherwise your lines will look janky, forced or cheap.

Like I said, there are some rules, such as how a slight proportion adjustment of facial features will make something cute or beautiful, but that is half of the process. Just draw, man, and you'll be fine. No more of this "left brain" bullshit.
