New to digital art, but what's worked best for me is to do a completed pencil line drawing, take a photo, and trace it digitally. I just do my best line work that way, it's how I've done it for twenty years.
I've been trying out a color-replacement style that instantly finds the dark values and replaces them with a solid color. Gives you thicc, nonaliased lines though so it's a bit stylized, not good for every piece.
