Tried to up the saturation of the colors, and fixed the ear structure. The purple-y bits did look off, ty for pointing that out

holy moly anon, it looks neato. Yours makes it have a mexian/western alien feel to it because of the bar-looking things, which is a pretty cool direction to take. Can you explain a bit more about the penumbra thing and the shadows?
