you could try using something like pic related.

like everything in art there's a hierarchy you should follow when measuring.

start with the overall width length and then go into detail.

very poorly. the worst mistakes aren't the inaccuracies when measuring, but the way the you cut up forms that should be connected.

look at the temples. where they are not seen they change direction.

draw all sides of an object. even if you cant see it.

make sure it's symmetrical. it's better both sides are off than only 1, because being symmetrical is an important feature of glasses.
