Yeah, I get what you mean, I feel like I'm "putting off" what I really want to do, which is learn how to render pleasing figures. I'm also really frustrated with the Loomis method because I feel like it's not working for me very well, the heads come out wonky, especially when looking up. The bottom row in pic related was done from imagination, and middle bottom turned out really well. The thing is, I didn't use "the Loomis method" but a hybrid of methods. HOWEVER, I'm still making headway and I think there's more I can learn from them, so I'll continue to grind until I feel like I'm fully spinning my wheels, as you said. I think I had a bit of a breakthrough recently where I discovered I've been treating the "sphere" of the head way too small in relation to the jaw, so we'll see if that realization results in any gains.

Also - over 200 Loomis heads drawn so far!
