But even when he does more "realistic" drawings he's still much more appealing than Hampton.

How do you go about learning how to "cartoon" -- I've seen people who caricature and the style doesn't appeal to me, is he doing something different? Are they the same principles?

When is it possible to start drawing from imagination? I've been drawing from references for a couple of weeks and I'm getting better but whenever I try to draw from imagination everything is so much worse.

So Is drawing from imagination something I have to constantly learn and practice or will it come along the more I learn about forms while drawing from references?
