How do you simplify heavily detailed areas? Things like a bird's feathers, or the leaves on the ground in this picture, I don't understand how to actually depict them. I'm doing pencil sketches but they just end up really messy, I try to scribble with intention in those areas but it's rarely good enough or clear enough.
