There are two types of autists: The type that's gonna make it and the type that isn't.
The type that makes it are the ones that obsessively observe, analyze, and critique everything. They focus on the process heavily and become addicted to it.
The type that never makes it are the ones that have already made it in their minds. They never improve because they are already where they want to be. They are obsessed with their own internal world of fantasies and sloppily putting that world to paper brings them great joy, a kind of pure bliss that only their kind have been blessed with.

They exist on both extremes of the spectrum. They are the worst of us. They are the best of us.
