how do you use reference when you're totally clueless without copying it and just adding on top the features and clothes of whatever character you wanna draw
i mean i'm not good enough to draw the pose at a different angle and i'm not good enough to cobble together ref for an original pose without fucking it up
is copying ref like that really bad? i know artists get shit on this board for using a ref too closely. especially porn artists
