A few things:

+You need to look up references of Mars and to apply that color scheme to your drawing. Include those burnt siennas, those orange mid tones, and the yellowish highlights. This does not currently read as "Mars" - the alternate colors even less so.

+ Simplify your value groups & shapes

+ Make sure to be cohesively rendering thing out evenly. For example, the wall is rendered in a simple, graphic way that is jarringly different than the ground & sky.

+ Pay more attention to your lighting. There is a clear light source coming from the front / sky, yet the figure and ground are lit from all over the place. Stick with this one, strong light source - it'll help with simplifying your values, colors and shapes.

+ I don't know what you've got going in the typography department, but it's helpful to work on covers with some basic text blocked in to help give you a better idea of how the illustration will work with text.

+ Consider overlaying some textures over the drawing at some point. The rendering looks very cheap - something that can often happen when people use 'perfect' digital brushes (ie. round brush with no textures, etc.)

Hope this helps!
