another painting. I wanted to try using muted colours but it came out very muddy and bland. Not enough hue variation between the values or something like that maybe. I'll do more studies over the weekend to try and focus on colour. please critique, I feel like less successful paintings are easier to criticize, so let me know if you think something in particular isn't working

I'm not sure, but it couldn't hurt! find references with a very strong light source and a wide range of values, I find sunset/sunrise photos to be helpful

I used to study from the Ellenburger Atlas of Animal Anatomy, but I misplaced my copy a few years ago. there might be a PDF online somewhere, but most of the plates are on Google Images anyway
