I mean most of the monochromatic ones are kind of literally washed out. They were all painted when I was real into misusing black paints and watering it down to get lighter values. They're all made with black paint and water. Plus a lot of the ones posted ITT definitely aren't what I'd call "done." A lot of them are primarily still the gesso layer or a first pass layer. Hopefully they'll be less wishy washy later idk.

this. also I'd rather post to a board full of hostile or dont-give-a-shit reactions than just a circlejerk most likely. Less pressure to want to please people when most of the people I interact with "hate" me. Plus it's easier to solicit arguments as an excuse to write essays about things and themes and ideas that are relevant to the whole endeavor. It's like doing shitty open mics to workshop your routine or whatever idk
