Is fun with a pencil actually a decent start with learning how to draw people? Not really interested in drawing anything realistic but rather just some funny images and maybe some nice fanart for characters I like. If there is anything better but perfect for someone with a short attention span I'm willing to try it.

the general explanation of composition (at least from what i've seen) is that it refers to the arrangement of elements in a artwork making it whole

but i can't see the composition in pictures, much less discern whether a composition is good or not, so basically i'm stuck
