I'll improve my draughtsmanship with time dw. I do find mechanical learning to be wasteful. "Go do x and then you can do y". Things only sink in when you're using them, "oh so that's what he meant!" is very common to hear.

If I ever truly find myself at a plateau I'll give mechanical exercises a shot, but I've never done them much to this point and I don't personally feel that I'll ever get much use of them ever, this is a very arrogant opinion I realize but the only kind of study that has truly helped me leaps and bounds so far has been memory studies.
