/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

I feel like a wreck, I tried to just use like circles and ovals and what have you for this but just for the life of me not wrap my head around it.

So I used boxes to try and get a feel for the volumes better, and I didn't feel like it was getting it right so I caved and boxed these on top of the image, is this even the right way to go about this?

I'm going to try some more, really try not to cave and just do the box mannikins free hand. but if nothing else do the boxes look right or did I interpret it wrong completely even when "tracing"
