were pink erasers good at some point and just went to shit, or were the other options even worse so old books recommended them?

It looks like an old hag, how you get hard from looking at wrinkly overly rendered skin is beyond me.

What's up with the fact that many manga artists / comic artists use really bland and uninteresting colors when there's color pages? I know that you can't go into the extremes because of time limitatios / deadlines, but you'd expect that there would be at least a bit more experimenting with the colors. Is there some sort of manga artist guidelines that force them to use specific type of coloring that then spreads to the general public of new learning artists? Or is it just because some artist don't color their stuff that often? I just feel weird that i have to crawl into the depths of pixiv to find some really good color scheme ideas.

Also feel free to discuss color theory.
