If this is the case, I would suggest perhaps finding a nice midpoint between something that feels organic, something that feels slightly technical, and something that still feels like it has cloth-like elements to it, in order to really sell that concept visually while still grounding yourself in the time period. You can perhaps think about what elements of modern fashion or design-thinking might go into the two different primary fashion choices that people have, and integrate those elements into the design slightly, and then add in the biological element via some sort of patterning or sense of "growth" over his body--since at present it just looks like clothes completely and I'd have no idea that it was "grown on" unless you told me (and if that's an important part of his character, I think it should be pretty clear that there's *something* up with his clothes from the get-go).

You should definitely do some visual research so that you can figure out what kind of look you want, but the two things that come to mind at least for me are skeletomuscular-type patterns similar to what you'd see on the Crysis suit, or something along the lines of the biological growths seen in Akira when Tetuso starts to lose control of his psychic powers. I don't know what your tolerance for body horror is, so I've linked the former as opposed to the latter.

Either way, I definitely agree with >>4828630 this time in the sense that there should really be some more visual tells for this particular element of his character concept. It seems like the most unique facet of his character and should definitely be explored more visually.
