Use a thicker lead or charcoal when sketching. It'll save you a lot of frustration. Thin lines are for finish/artists who have good control.

Your construction should be more fully realized. It doesn't need to be more complex, but it should be more or less completed shapes, with 3 sides if they're cubes. Drawing only a bunch of parallel lines that exist independently of each other isn't much help when judging relationships. Construction is supposed to compensate for weakness in that area until you can do it intuitively.
