/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

Am I just screwed if I don't want to get followers by posting memes or trend hopping? I'm pretty /beg/ tier right now, but I was kinda hoping I could develop maybe a couple hundred followers so I'd already kinda have a base once I improve my skills enough to really get to work. My goal is to eventually make my own story-driven comics online, but how am I even going to get people to read it? Unironically considered making coom art to drag people in and look at my actual stuff, and even made a separate account for that, but I'm not even grossed out by it, I just am completely disinterested.
