The creature is called Gomot. He's an ancient mechanical construct built for defense and warfare by a long-deceased tribe. It's very sturdy and durable, able to survive for long periods of time on absolutely nothing. There exists a repurposed version of it built by a modern society based on the creature's blueprints (pic related). The modern version is not quite as durable given its material build and reliance on electricity, but it's capable of dishing out more brute force. The wings were kind of an afterthought and I admittedly just added em for the coolness factor - sorry.
