Hi, I would just like to point out that the guy did NOT get a job with Disney, he got a job with Mercury Filmworks, an animation studio in Ottawa, Canada, that Disney outsourced the animation for Lion Guard to. Mercury is also doing the animation for the new Mickey Mouse shorts and the soon to be released Hilda and the Troll cartoon. It's a good studio, they make good stuff (though the pay is shit) but even I've been offered a job there. All of their stuff is rig-based, so if you can pose well, have good animation fundamentals and can use Toonboom, it's not an impossible goal to reach.

the shapes and line work are nice, sort of reminiscent of zedig. it's hard to critique the composition because there's nothing happening in the picture. i'm not sure what you want to say with it, what you want to show the audience, what you want the audience to feel, so it's tough to make any worthwhile comments beyond fitting the elements of the image into composition guides (rule of thirds, golden rectangle, etc.) consider adding some sort of narrative to the drawing.

pic is an illustration by thierry martin, similar to yours in that it's just a character in the woods but what makes it great, in my opinion, is the subtle narrative. there's nothing really going on, it's just a fox walking through the woods, but you still feel a sense of adventure, like you're in the woods too.
