generally speaking how do people price work that has a human and say a dog? what’s the usual discrepancies?

i’ve never sold my work before and i have someone reaching out to commission a picture of him and his pet. i’ve never done animals before. here’s a wip, can you tell what kind of dog this is? i’m trying to practice so i can make the potential customer(s) happy.
