The worst myth on /ic/ is when crabs say "I work so hard but I'm not getting better. Not true. If you work hard you'll get better, the same as anything else.

You can possibly work hard, get better, but be unsuccessful, but you'll never work hard and not improve.

Crabs would have you believe that talent exists, and they are working harder than you but not improving, and if you're better than them it's simply luck because you're talented and they aren't.

If you work hard, grind, focus, you'll get better. Success is not guaranteed, but talent doesn't exist, and this is simply a matter of getting good enough that people start to recognize you for your hard work.

Nobody ever worked hard and got nowhere in terms of their skill, but people have definitely worked hard and not been financially successful.

But don't believe crabs that say they work harder than you if your work is better. If your work is better than someone else's you are working harder at it than they are, plain and simple.
