Definitely better, but don't focus too much on the outline.
Think of the gesture in terms of simple lines that don't follow the contour too much, only the important parts of the figure should be shown in slightly more detail to make the pose more understandable, but even then it should be kept very simple.
Here's a 15 second one I did. It's very sloppy and inaccurate, but it does convey the pose in a very simple way which makes drawing the construction on top of it fairly simple.
