Does there exist a drawing book for absolutely inept total beginners?

One that starts with the absolute basics like drawing a straight line or circle and then takes small steps so that you don't get overwhelmed? One that holds your hand and explains everything to you so it's clear to you what you do?

Every book I looked at yet felt like pic related to me.

I don't fully understand the purpose of the exercises, how good I should be doing them before moving on and what skills I am supposed to learn from them. The explanations sound vague and subjective.

Anyone got any suggestions?

At first I thought this was nothing more than a joke. Now that I've read the /ic/ recommended books for "beginners" it's just a slightly exaggerated genuine tutorial.

>Drawing complex objects and humans 2-3 lessons in when you can't even draw a straight line or an acceptable circle
