to elaborate, i also use the hitokaku method to deconstruct eyes from artists i like. i think it's a good way to understand forms of the anime eye (fundamentally the same form as a realistic eye, believe it or not). pic related from his 2nd book 人を描くのって樂しいね - 顔・頭編 (it's fun to draw people, face/head edition)
