I'll see if I haven't downloaded that book already. Will check it out. I'm getting an idea about the body form and gesture from Steve Huston's NMA videos. I just started with them though but they are pretty damn great for a total beginner such as me.

On my first day of drawing again I did do that upside down exercise as well as some grid drawing. Might be useful to rewind and go back to that to help capture detail again.

I'm mentally prepared for sucking forever and am forcing myself to put pen to paper every day with the Draw Art Daily stuff. You can see my mix of lazy 5 min stuff mixed in with more ambitious studies here:

Attached pic is where I'm at with the blue line. I decided to keep the horizon line well above the subject in the end because that was how I kind of pictured it at the beginning.

I think the length of the arms might be OK, but the torso, thighs, lower legs, feet etc. might look way wonky to someone experienced.
