/ic/ can you help me with pic related? I'm trying this coloring technique, but I'm stuck on #4 (base colors with dull unsaturated shades of gray). What the hell did the artist do on #5-8? Did they just touch up the picture with colors using a new SCREEN layer?

Also, would you say coloring like this is optimal (using ONLY shades of gray as seen in #3) or would you rather still work with colors when shading?
