Comissions and fine art galleries are about making a name for yourself, Contract work in the industry is about connections and a banging portfolio.
It's nice that you all want to take care of the art industry but it's a diseased little creature and it's up to you to step up and become a part of it rather than whine about it on 4chan.

There will always be an artist that is less able than you earning more than you, just like you will never be the best artist alive.
