Day 12 of learning to draw, was doing a reference copy because apparently it's a good learning method, one thing i'm confused about is some people seem to be majorly against copying, is it actually detrimental or is it just an opinion thing? a lot of big artists from what i've seen seem to have the opinion of copying as a beginner = good

anyways, regarding the image, any major flaws i'm having or major mistakes in fundamentals? thanks!
