>Mob Psycho only got a physical release because of the Anime and OPM's success when drawn by Murata.
Is there a source for that? Or are you only referring to the english release? Cos if you look at the release dates, Mob Psycho's 1st volume was October of 2012, a couple of months after OPM's first chapter went live and a couple months before OPM's first volume released. I don't see why the existence of either anime makes any difference -- Both OPM (webcomic) and Mob Psycho (manga) were successful, fairly popular series before either one got anime adaptations. And its release in the west has no bearing on its popularity in japan, where it was already successful for many years.
>The success of ONE is built up on so many factors that are purely luck based that saying he was successful purely because of his work alone is an overstatement.
Of course, but nobody's saying that. He did get lucky, however there was no way to get lucky without first having something that is capable of becoming so popular. It's silly to say that he's only popular because Murata adapted OPM/the anime adaptations of his work when he only got the adaptations in the first place because the works were both fairly successful and fun reads.
