I'm noticing patterns as to which direction he strokes. If it's the face, he usually strokes along the horizontal axis. pic is an extreme example.

I am comfortable with light but what I couldn't wrap my head around was WHICH lines to use, how curved they should be and how much of it etc etc. It just seemed like rocket science. I think if I go by da vinci's method I can at least move forward.
