Is it bad that I don't care about painting at all?

Drawing is something I really enjoy, but I don't feel the urge to start painting.
I like doing gesture drawings, I love using simple shapes to construct shit, I have a huge hard on for drawing things from imagination, I love some tight line work etc. Vilppu/Teal line guy type of shit basically.

I guess I'm more into the animator style approach to drawing, accept I don't really have the incentive to become an animator.
Am I missing some type of joy in my decision to ignore painting?

It doesn't matter if your father is a musician or not, 5 year olds can't compose music and play several instruments. Mozart also reported that he just heard music inside his head and he just had to write it down, or else he would go mad.
If that's not an insane musical aptitude(talent), then I don't know what is.
Same goes for those handful of 12 year old kids doing advanced algebra/maths, and shit like that.

I agree that talent isn't important, and certainly
not in art, but to deny that some people have an insane natural ability for certain skills is ridiculous.

The person stops being retarded.

Loomis, Vilppu, Hampton, Bridgman.

It's not getting easier than that.

If you're really that inept, just practice drawing basic shapes.

Spheres, cubes, pyramids.
Do this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgDNDOKnArk

And remember, Loomis is love, Loomis is life.

Hehe thanks I'll keep drawing, and now that you mentioned it I think I'll go back to Loomis and look over drawing in planes of light and shadows; hope to see another Animu thread real soon too.
