Study from pic related, understand the underlying form and structure and most importantly analyze and get the gesture behind the figure. Once you have understood the concept behind what the figure is doing, deviate away from life while still holding onto the fundamentals and turn what once was a 3dpigdisgusting into the abstract and ideal.

Protip: Do not directly reference the figure while deviating away from life, simply copying the figure and slapping on a moe blob for a head will not work and would result in a figure that is out proportion and the uncanny valley.
