You need to remember that parallel lines converge to the same VP. I quickly sketched an example of two boxes rotated without changing the vanishing points. If you want to rotate the box that you drew, you need to find the VPs and draw a new box with parallel lines that converge to the same vanishing points.

Why don't you try following David Finch's roadmap? It gives you something to do when you're bored or want to improve on some aspect of your art, and I've been finding drawing Bridgman really helpful in helping me "get it"
