I think you're not committing to dramatic lighting enough, the renderings ok but the whole piece is thrown off by shitty colour scheme due to odd lighting choice according to subject matter. be a little bit bolder in these facets

well, I'm not too good at explaining things, but I'd suggest looking and studying how other painters/artists draw eyes, just practice more anatomy, keep your form nice and simple and round, i wish I could explain better I'm sorry
