Seriously, how do I get better at drawing? I tried two separate books and I learned nothing from either of them. I keep doing gesture drawings, but I don't know if I'm even learning anything and I'm told I'm not doing it right anyway. Back when I was doing portraits, I was told it was all symbol drawn, so I stopped doing it. At this point I have basically no motivation to draw because I don't improve and I've lost confidence in my ability to draw even simple shapes.
