Funny thing Vipplu has video about academic approach study in his courses and he generally spoke about this, as I remember not only, not only in the book but facebook videos too. And not only him but all favorite teachers /ic/ did the same. Because this is fundamental skill you need to know if you want to draw human figure successfully after all.
