I used to draw and read comics as a kid, and I was blown away when I discovered anime. Probably many of you can relate. I didn't consider design so much, I believed the quality of an art was a function of time invested. Like an artist is owed appreciation for their labor, and anyone who cannot see that is dumb and has poor taste.

But there is supply and demand. I began to consider art as an object, how a thing can improve it's surroundings, and what it means to appreciate art. I kind of "grew out of" the drawn image, I didn't want to stay there, I explored other media,
sculpture, oils. Design and economics are hugely important. Art is not always a purely expressive or temperamental exercise, it can be slow, calculated and abstract.

I love art because it can be anything you want. Thanks for reading my blog, d/ic/ks
